Ag Advantage LLC is here to assist Michigan farmers with a complete range of agricultural consulting services.
Our Start
In 2016 Clifford and Jason Maust created the business to help farmers throughout Michigan grow better, more prosperous, crops.
With over 60 years of combined experience, Ag Advantage can meet the needs of the farmers. Clifford began his consulting career in 1981 and is a Certified Crop Advisor. Jason began consulting in 2008 when he graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Crop and Soil Sciences and is also a Certified Crop Advisor. Michael Huntoon began working as an Environmental Consultant for Ag Advantage in 2017 when he graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Animal Science. The business has steadily grown as the consultants continue to build a larger clientele and actively service more and more farmers. They currently work with more than 150 farms throughout the state of Michigan.
Our Programs
The backbone of Ag Advantage is soil fertility programs. Fields are sampled by soil type so that specific recommendations are made to maximize yields and minimize costs. Site-specific fertilizer recommendations are custom-made for each client’s needs to make the necessary improvements. The consultants also offer variable rate seeding and fertilizer rates so that they can further assist in maximizing yields. Some farmers take advantage of small-acre sample sizes for even more precise fertilizer applications.
Our Resources
In order to make recommendations based on those soil samples, Ag Advantage works closely with Brookside Laboratories and the Amplify Network in Ohio. Brookside is well known for its accuracy with analyzing soil, tissue, and manure samples. The Amplify Network gives our consultants access to other consultants throughout the world so that they can network and continually learn from each other in this ever-growing field.
