Our Services

Agronomy Services

Because AG Advantage is independent of the fertilizer companies, they recommend only the nutrients needed to produce the desired yields in cost-effective ways.

  • Soil analysis for all the major and minor elements affecting crop production

  • Samples are collected according to factors that would affect nutrient values including soil type, elevation, past farming practices, and yield monitor data when available

  • Recommendations are provided on maps to enable easy understanding of variations within fields. Applications will have variable rate application capability

  • Site specific soil fertility recommendations

  • Provide variable rate seeding prescriptions using fertility values, soil types, elevation, past farming practices and yield monitor data

  • Provide tissue analysis to determine crop response and plant needs

  • Process yield monitoring data into usable yield maps

  • Field evaluations for cause of varied production

  • Soil nitrogen sampling to determine adequate amounts of nitrogen for crop production. We use ammonia and nitrate tests. Soil nitrogen mineralization tests are also available

  • The soil health test (Haney Test) is an integrated approach to soil testing using physical, chemical, and biological soil test data; it is designed to mimic nature’s approach to soil nutrient availability

Conservation Services

We help livestock farmers by developing nutrient management plans to better utilize the value of the manure that the farm produces. Ag Advantage writes Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMP’S) to help the farm operations stay in compliance with environmental regulations. This allows the farm to have a positive impact on our environment and receive funding from applicable government programs. Manure sampling and weekly facility inspections are also available as requested by
the farm.

  • Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan (CNMP) development

  • Siting GAAMPs (Generally Accepted Agricultural Management Practices) for those who are starting a new livestock enterprise or expanding their present livestock facilities

  • National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit applications as required by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE)

  • Annual NPDES Permit Reporting to MiWaters

Technology Services

Technology is becoming more and more important to farms across Michigan. The recently developed AI-Pro tool can be utilized within the field to view the recommended fertility program for that specific field. CropTrak is another piece of software offered by Ag Advantage to assist livestock farmers with recording the manure application information accurately. With a touch of the finger, employees can record the information in the field at the time of application on an iPad. All users on the farm are linked to record, update, and access information.

Irrigation Services

Seeing a need with water management, Ag Advantage has recently started an irrigation management program. This tool helps farmers in managing water usage through a soil moisture probe that accurately tracks the current moisture within the fields.

Manage irrigation to provide optimum potential using CropX sensors places in the field. These provide real-time data sent to your smart device.
